Introduction

Concept

Throughout the year we run five 9-weeks-cycle (two in the Spring and three in the Fall) equivalent to in total of 45 weeks, the remaining seven weeks are during the Summer and Winter holidays when we focus on maintenance.

Each 9-weeks-cycle contains three elements, which each has a clear focus.

• 6-week project
• Cooldown
• Technichal sprint

The three different elements of the cycle allow us to have a clearer focus on certain areias during specific periods, which creates a more stable pulsation. To illustrate, we might ramp up to heavily focus on Delivery towards the end of the 6-week project whereas during the Cooldown we shift focus towards Discovery.

Team Setup

We run three cross-functional teams consisting of 2-3 developers and one Product Owner each. To support each team we have “enablers”, which are our Tech Lead, UX and QA.

During the 6-weeks-project those teams are intact whereas during the Technical Sprint those are separated into respective departments to focus on domain-specific tasks.
